Translink® 445 and 555 Surface-Treated Aluminum Silicates for Polyamides

Surface-modified calcined kaolin is a widely used mineral in nylon to provide an optimal balance of impact resistance, tensile strength and stiffness, as well as dimensional stability. Formulating nylon with BASF's Translink 445 and Translink 555 reinforcements allows compounders to achieve a balance of performance characteristics that are difficult to obtain with unfilled systems or with other mineral reinforcements.

Translink® 37

High brightness surface treated kaolin

Translink® 37 is a high performance reinforcing extender designed to reduce water transmission in cross-linked polyethylene and EPR polymer systems when used in electrical applications. It is recommended for use with peroxide cure systems.

 

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

Phenolics, EPR power cables, pharmaceutical rubbers, polyester gel coats, electrical connectors, electrical capacitors, TPE / TPO, wire jacketing, silicone rubber.

Translink® 77

High brightness surface treated kaolin

Translink® 77 kaolin is a premium performance reinforcing extender. Translink® 77 kaolin provides excellent initial and aged wet electrical properties. It is recommended for use with peroxide cure systems.

EPR power cables, silicone rubber, TPE / TPO, electrical capacitors, mechanical rubber goods, electrical connectors, polyester gel coats.

Translink® 445

High brightness surface treated kaolin

Translink® 445 kaolin is a high-performance reinforcing extender designed to be compatible in polyamides, polyesters, epoxies, phenolics and other polar polymers. Translink® 445 kaolin reduces water absorption, increases tensile and flexural strength, increases heat deformation temperature and improves dimensional stability when compounded in polymeric systems.

 

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

Polyamides (6, 66 and blends), TPE / TPO, epoxy and polyurethane coatings.

High brightness surface treated kaolin

Translink® 555 is designed to be compatible in polyamides, polyester epoxies, phenolics and other polar polymers. Its low residue and finer particle size offers excellent impact strength in engineered polymers.
