Charlotte, NC, July 30th, 2018 – The Georgia Mining Association (GMA) recently awarded BASF’s Minerals Department with the 2018 GMA’s President’s Reclamation Award. BASF Kaolin has been a leader in land reclamation for many years. This marks the fourteenth time MidGa has been recognized for its commitment to reclamation. Land reclamation regulations in Georgia are comprehensive and require that for every acre of land mined, one acre must be reclaimed. This means the land must once again be able to produce renewable natural resources, such as timber, wildlife, and aquaculture.
Founded in 1972, the Georgia Mining Association is a George trade association dedicated to helping mining companies and allied trade members succeed, understand, comply and function in a complex business and regulatory world. The primary purposes of the GMA are to protect and promote mining industry in the state.
